Over the 4 weeks, the students discussed the theme of justice: How does surveillance affect society? Is Batman / vigilantism a force for good? Do prisons work? Through these discussion, students developed dramatically over the 4 weeks, as they were pushed to work in teams, lead presentations, and give arguments and defend points of view, often randomly assigned.
Each week, students:
Arrive in class having reviewed new content
Engage with the new material through debate, presentation, and argument
Develop a new skill (persuasive analogies, stakeholder analysis, usage of quotes, etc.)
Work on a short homework assignment to practice new skills
